WHAT IS INCLUDED IN YOUR PORTRAIT SESSIONS?

All portrait sessions include about one hour of photography on location within 50 miles of Truckee, CA. Pick a spot that might be special for you. If you need some ideas on locations, don't worry I have plenty of suggestions! Each portrait package includes an online gallery with 50+ edited photographs and all edited images download.

WHAT IS REQUIRED TO BOOK MY DATE?

I require a $150 deposit along with a signed agreement to secure your date. The balance is due on the day of your session.

WHAT SHOULD WE WEAR TO THE PHOTO SESSION?

  1. Coordinate, don't match. Pick a couple of colors and choose clothes that will fit in this color scheme or have one color that everyone wears as an accent: red boots for mom, red buttons on dad's shirt, red vest for a baby. Star with your "pickiest dresser" and build from there.

  2. Consider your background. Your session will be outside, so please dress appropriately for the weather. Closed-toe shoes are a good idea, especially for babies. Winter sessions need waterproof boots as we may venture into the knee-deep snow.

  3. Plan ahead. Trust me, your photo session will sneak up on you! You may think certain clothes will fit your kids or that one dress is clean. If you wait until the day before you may run into an issue of clothes not fitting, being wrinkly, etc.

  4. Say no to characters, logos. Yes, your little one may love their 'Moana' shirt but you may want to skip it for the family photo session. Just like bold patterns, logos on shirts can be distracting.

  5. Consider how this may look in 10 years. Choose simple and timeless in favor of the newest fashions.
    Being comfortable and being yourself is the most important thing.

  6. Nails, haircuts, makeup. If your kids are small and in your arms, your nails are in the pictures a lot. One-week-old haircuts are best. Go 20% more on your usual daytime makeup and avoid shimmering powder.

Here are some color-coordinating ideas on Pinterest.

HEADSHOT QUICK TIPS:

  • Dress in classic, timeless clothing that makes you look and feel great;
  • Avoid busy patterns and large lines/stripes;
  • Bring a few different jackets, shirts, blouses  for a change of looks;
  • Avoid makeup with shimmer or products with lots of sparkle or shine;
  • Bring lip balm, hairbrush, makeup, and hair products you prefer;
  • Please arrive with hair styled and makeup already applied.

WHAT IF THE WEATHER IS BAD ON THE DAY OF MY PHOTO SESSION? RE-SCHEDULING POLICY:

Unless it is super windy (more than 15mph), pouring rain, or smoky (air quality index more than 125) we will proceed with the session. In the case of adverse weather conditions, I'll offer to re-schedule the session for another time.

WHAT IS YOUR CANCELLATION POLICY?

If your need to cancel for any reason, the deposit of the session is non-refundable. (This includes Injury/illness; Weather and Travel Conditions; Personal scheduling changes; Cancellations by other vendors).
However, your deposit may be applied towards another session within 24 months. If the Photographer needs to cancel, the entire session fee including the retainer deposit will be refunded.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO RECEIVE MY PHOTOS?

Your online gallery with a selection of the best images will be posted in about two weeks after your photo session. The online gallery is where you can get prints, digital downloads and preview your album layout. I process orders on a first-come, first-serve basis. In the busy season, you should allow 4-5 weeks for delivery of wedding images and 2-3 weeks for portrait sessions. Printed albums take 2 weeks after you make a selection of images for the album and an additional 1-2 weeks to print & ship after you approve the layout.

WHAT KIND OF CAMERAS DO YOU PHOTOGRAPH WITH?

I use Canon's professional gear and continually invest in new and innovative equipment to provide my clients with the best image quality possible. I always have backup equipment at each shooting. My favorite is a full-frame Canon 5D Mark IV camera and prime Canon EF 35mm f/1.4 II USM Lens.
